This is a hybrid role, working 4 days per week onsite in our client’s Montreal office.
This is a 37.5 hour work week.

We are seeking an innovative and passionate individual to join our dynamic team, where you will play a crucial role in crafting intuitive, engaging, and impactful digital experiences. As a natural problem solver, communicator, and facilitator, you’ll immerse yourself in every stage of the product lifecycle, from initial ideation to final implementation. Working within an agile, iterative environment, you will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders, translating complex challenges into elegant design solutions that delight users and drive significant business impact. **What You’ll Do:**
* **Design Strategy & Vision:**
* Leverage a deep understanding of user interface patterns and behaviors to enhance user comprehension and optimize task performance across digital products.
* Utilize visualizations and interactions to facilitate analytic thinking, especially with large datasets.
* Lead design critiques, assess interactions for inclusivity, and provide expert guidance to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
* Orchestrate ideation sessions and collaborative work activities to foster innovative solutions.
* Serve as the interaction design subject-matter expert, guiding product design decisions and best practices.
* **Artifact Creation & Prototyping:**
* Apply comprehensive knowledge of interaction design theory, visual design theory, research insights, and best practices to inform all design decisions.
* Develop complex low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and prototypes to explore, communicate, and validate design concepts effectively.
* Produce sophisticated prototypes that include detailed delivery specifications for development teams.
* Present and articulate interaction design work to senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment and buy-in.
* **Research & Testing:**
* Facilitate usability testing sessions to gather critical user feedback and insights.
* Actively participate in or initiate research activities to deepen understanding of user needs and behaviors.
* Conduct research into interaction design strategies within the financial services sector and perform competitive audits relevant to specific design or business objectives.
* Execute pattern, micro-interaction, and component design audits to ensure consistency and quality.
**What You’ll Bring:**
**Must-Have Qualifications:**
* A BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* A compelling portfolio showcasing application design samples that demonstrate your design process and impact.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing usable interfaces across diverse channels and platforms.
* Proven experience in an applied research setting, including successfully integrating user research findings into product designs and design practices.
* Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate design strategy, rationale, and logic, including describing benefits and highlighting potential risks associated with design decisions.
* Expertise with industry-standard design, prototyping, and research tools such as Figma, Mural, and UserTesting.com.
**Nice-to-Have Qualifications:**
* An MA/MS degree or certification in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field.
* A strong understanding of the strengths and limitations of various research methods, and the ability to apply them appropriately at different product phases.
* An appreciation for the potential and application of ‘design thinking’ methodologies.
* Experience working within a large organizational structure and in an agile development environment.
